Empathy Apathy

I'm finding, as the school year draws to a close, that my emphathy program is starting to malfunction. I bravely volunteered to head the "Care" committee. I am finding that many of my colleagues are battling empathy fatigue now that it is late April. We have 23 days of school left. How do you "repair" your empathy program? Any ideas for my faculty friends? I want them to feel loved and honored as the school year draws to a close. I think this is the path for me to take in order to battle my own empathy fatigue. Any suggestions are welcome.

We had Re-Enactors' Day at the Museum today, and 1500 3rd & 4th graders attended.
Get the kids out into the fresh air and give them fun, physical and educational things to do.
This time of year teachers and kids are sick of each other, hence the field trip.
I think our event is particularly cool because the kids can climb on an antique fire-truck, walk on stilts, ride all manor of bicycles . . . It's very interactive and the kids love it.
Me however, well I'm exhausted. I don't know how you face those kids everyday.

Good luck, Heather! I don't have much advice for you -- this isn't my field. I do think chocolates always go a long way toward restoring emotional balance.

Hey, Mom -- I forgot to tell you Brandie's kids were going to be at that event today. Did you see them in the crowd of 1,500 kids?

I probably did see Brandie's kids, but the last time I saw them they were two weeks old, so I didn't recognize them and they didn't seem to know me.
