Mid-July Update

I have been so overwhealmed by the events of the past month that I have been unable to post about them. Here's the quick update. (Ha ha ha)

1. I have been so lucky to have so many people come to my house this past month. We have had 4 sets of company in 2 weeks. This was absolutely crazy, but I loved every moment of it. My Mom and Roger came to visit for a day at the end of June. They got to see the Jekyll and Hyde show that Jack and I played in for Performance Now Theater Company. Soon after they left Russ came to visit for a few days. The day Russ left Kelly, Airan, David, Sophie, and Evie came to visit for a few days. We had a wonderful time playing dress-up and making up new games in the backyard. 24 hours after they left to go back to Chicago, Dad and Nadine came out to visit for a few days. We got to drive up to Estes Park and watch the glassblowers make a beautiful large vase. I have had so much fun with everyone!

2. The house seems very quiet right now since everyone left. Jack has been taking summer classes in order to obtain his Master of Music Degree. He took a really interesting class called "Psychology of Racism". I wish I could have taken that class with him. He is also taking a class that combines movement with learning for young kids. I'm sure he is really good at that considering what he does with our nephews and nieces (adopted nieces Sophie and Evie).

3. I got a new job! I will be teaching band and choir in Brighton at a school roughly 10 minutes from the house. Jack's new school is 4 minutes from my new school. We are both opening brand new schools. They are just finishing construction of each campus. For the first time ever we will be teaching in the same district and in the district where we live!

It has been an incredible summer! I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it all.

Thanks for having us in your lovely home! Evie and Sophie loved playing with their Aunt Heather and Uncle Jack. We just hope it won't take another 2+ years before we see you again!

Wow...my mind is spinning just reading about it! Hopefully you'll have a few weeks to just unwind before school starts again...which is when?

Kelly: Thank you so much for the yummy cheesecake! Jack and I sharing one piece right now.

Grandma: If you and Grandpa feel adventurous you sure are welcome to stay with us, too.

Amy: Jack and I have to report August 4 for orientation. Can you imagine how obnoxious we will be if we sit together during our orientation?
